Thick, leathery leaves strongly corrugated into a quilted, bullate surface set Anthurium corrugatum apart from the smoother velvet species it's often compared to. Native to humid wet tropical forest and cloud forest in Ecuador and northwestern South America, it forms a compact, self-supporting rosette from a short stem and dense root mass, its elongated cordate blades carrying a narrow sinus and prominent quilted venation. It doesn't climb and stays relatively compact for the genus, which makes its heavy texture the whole draw rather than scale or colour.

Root rot
Cause: Substrate that stays wet, often from a mix that's too dense or a pot with poor drainage
Fix: Repot into a chunkier mix immediately, trim away any mushy roots, and let the plant recover in a smaller pot before sizing up again
Flattening of the corrugated leaf texture
Cause: Insufficient light or humidity for the bullate surface to develop fully
Fix: Increase both light and humidity together; the texture this species is grown for is a direct response to good growing conditions
Slow growth or stalling in warm rooms
Cause: A cloud-forest species that prefers cooler conditions than most collector anthuriums
Fix: Move to a cooler spot if temperatures regularly run above the mid-20s°C
