Anthurium pallidiflorum

Very long, narrow, strap-like leaves cascade from Anthurium pallidiflorum's compact basal crown, forming an elegant, pendent drape rather than the upright rosette most anthuriums grow into. Native to wet tropical forest in Ecuador, it anchors to branches and trunks with numerous adventitious roots in humid, shaded conditions across montane to lowland cloud forest. The leaves themselves are laterally compressed with a prominent midrib and entire margins — smooth and leathery, with none of the genus's more familiar cordate outline.
