About Monstera 'Aussie Dream'
Aussie Dream crosses the small-leaved, densely fenestrated Monstera adansonii with the larger, more robust Monstera deliciosa, landing on a leaf shape that's more symmetrical and rounder than adansonii alone while carrying a heavier hole-punched fenestration pattern than deliciosa typically shows at a comparable size. The result reads as a tidy middle ground between its two parents rather than a simple blend; leaves stay compact but the fenestrations are bold and evenly distributed. Like both parents, it's a climbing hemiepiphyte that benefits from a moss pole or similar support once it starts producing longer internodes.
Origin
No wild native range of its own: a horticultural hybrid cross of Monstera adansonii and Monstera deliciosa (both native to Mexico and Central/South America) developed by a breeder in Australia.

Before you buy
- Compare leaf shape against both parents: expect something rounder and more symmetrical than Monstera adansonii but with heavier, more evenly distributed fenestration than Monstera deliciosa shows at a comparable size
- Ask for close-up photos of an actual leaf and node before paying, not just a listing photo
- Check for a healthy node with aerial root activity, since this is a climbing hemiepiphyte that will need support once internodes lengthen
- Treat an asking price as one seller's figure, not a sale price
- Ask whether the plant traces to the original Australian-bred cross or a later re-creation of the same pairing, since the origin field only confirms it was developed in Australia without further detail
