Alocasia scalprum

Alocasia scalprum is a species native to the humid wet tropical forests of the Philippines, specifically Samar. This compact, self-heading Alocasia grows terrestrially in warm, humid understory conditions, typically reaching a medium size. Its leaves are narrow sagittate to lanceolate, with a metallic dark green surface and a deeply quilted, heavily bullate texture. The prominent veins and slightly purplish undersides give it an 'armor-like' appearance suited to its shaded native habitat.
