About Pothos barberianus
Pothos barberianus is a true Pothos species (the genus Pothos is separate from Epipremnum, which is commonly called pothos) native to the humid forests of Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo. It grows as a root-climbing liana, shingling and climbing tree trunks. A key characteristic of Pothos species is the winged petiole, which makes the leaf look like it is composed of two jointed leaf-like parts. P. barberianus has lanceolate, dark green, glossy leaves and is an uncommon species among aroid collectors.

- Substrate
- Well-draining mix: 40% perlite, 40% potting compost, 20% orchid bark.
- Watering
- Water when the top 3–4 cm is dry. These are generally forgiving and will tolerate slight drought better than overwatering.

- 50–70% preferred. Most varieties in this group are more adaptable to typical indoor conditions than true aroids.
- Feeding
- Balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength every 2 weeks in spring and summer. Monthly in winter.
