Homalomena 'Selby'

Homalomena 'Selby' is a compact clumping aroid prized for its glossy, deeply quilted dark green leaves, a texture and colour combination that gives it a jewel-like presence despite its unassuming size. Its name is widely associated with Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Florida, long a centre of aroid research and cultivar registration, though detailed breeding records for individual Homalomena selections like this one are sparse compared to better-documented genera. It stays low and clumping rather than climbing, forming a tidy rosette that suits terrarium and cabinet growing as well as open display. Homalomena as a genus remains relatively overlooked next to Anthurium and Philodendron, making 'Selby' a good entry point for collectors curious about the group.
