Bucephalandra 'Brownie Ghost' is a small rheophytic aroid from Borneo, part of the widely collected 'Brownie' line of cultivar selections prized in the planted-aquarium and paludarium hobby. In the wild it clings to rocks in fast-flowing forest streams, and in cultivation it is grown either fully submersed underwater or emersed in high-humidity terrarium setups, tolerating both with a short creeping rhizome and thick, leathery leaves. 'Brownie Ghost' carries an unusually pale, silvery-grey-green leaf colour with a fine matte texture, distinguishing it from the more common metallic blue-green sheen typical of other Bucephalandra selections. Its small size and slow growth make it a natural fit for nano aquascapes and bioactive terrariums rather than traditional potted display.
