Monstera tuberculata is a shingling aroid native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. In its juvenile stage, it shingles tightly against tree bark with heart-shaped, overlapping leaves that have a rough, tuberculate texture. As it matures and climbs higher, it produces larger foliage and eventually hangs or forms fertile branches. The species is collected for its shingling form and textured leaves.
